Things To Know First
Application is required for students applying to any or all of AMA's programs. The selection process is competitive as only the top qualified applicants get selected and offered admission.
Candidates for admission into our Nursing program must have completed bachelors degree in Science or Arts or any other equivalent diploma
Our Academic Programs
>> The accelerated 2nd - degree track - (for students already holding a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent) is about 16 months ( 4 consecutive semesters in length).
>> The traditional 2-year (4 semester) track is also available. All hybrid
Prerequisite / Admission Checklist
Before applying to the 2nd Degree track, applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in any major.
- Complete required prerequisite courses with minimum grades:
* BIOL 201 (A&P I) and BIOL 202 (A&P II) with minimum grade of 2.5 each.
* NURS 201 with minimum grade of 3.0 required. - Attend the online pre-nursing seminar and in-person orientation.
- Submit application by deadline (typically Sept 1 for 2nd Degree track).
- Adhere to the selective admissions point system.
- Meet additional requirements (background check, immunizations, drug screen) before clinical courses
Program Length and Format:
- 2nd Degree Track is designed for students with prior bachelor’s.
- Duration: approximately 16 months (4 consecutive semesters) upon admission
- Format: Hybrid delivery (some online lecture content) and in-person labs/Clinicals.

General Education / Prerequisite Snapshot

- Must complete each semester’s nursing courses successfully (grade ≥ 3.0) before advancing.

- Adult Health Nursing I & II
- Mental Health Nursing
- Maternal/Child Health Nursing.

- Clinical, simulation, and lab components
Important Milestone Requirements
- Minimum grade of 3.0 required in all NURS courses after admission.
- A maximum of two attempts (including withdrawals) for prerequisite course categories within five years.
Key Notes & Considerations:
- Admission is competitive and based on a point system; meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee selection.
- The nursing curriculum is intensive; students are advised to limit work hours during the program due to heavy clinical and simulation demands.
- Clinical hours may be scheduled mornings, afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends given the hybrid and accelerated format.
